Playing DVD and VLC locks up

As the title implies, VLC freezes randomly when watching a movie. The movie is a freshly opened copy of Troy, no scratches, no fingerprints, no dust.

I'm using win7 64-bit and I installed VLC with all the defaults. Any help would be appreciated.

Edit: I forgot to mention that I watched the first 3 Indiana Jones movies perfectly fine off of DVD's.

Edit 2: Don't bother answering. Every time I post an error nobody cares to answer me. So can a mod please close or completely wipe this thread from the face of the internet.

Have you tried any other movies? Or tried playing the Troy movie on another computer/DVD player?
Could be faulty disc.
