VLC settings commands?

Postby SawyerX » 01 Apr 2011 21:00

Is it possible to have commands like --ffmpeg-fast --ffmpeg-skiploopfilter=4
executed in the playlist itself just for one channel?

Right now my IPTV Provider is streaming one channel in mpeg4 h264 and all others in Mpeg2.
My computer is very weak, a Celeron 2Ghz which can barely run this mpeg4 channel but due to most of the channel being to dark anyway I have to run gamma adjustment which eats up even more cpu power. Thats all fine for the mpeg2 channels but the mpeg4 is now unwatchable.
Running the fast and skip switches on mpeg2 channels is a no go as they become really ugly and discolored so Im using 2 playlist at the moment with this mpeg4 being the solo channel in the second playlist ofcourse.

Was just wondering If its possible to combine this 2 playlists but only to use the fast switches on the one solo mpeg4 channel.

You can force options via playlists, I am not sure if they work with all playlist formats, but at least XSPF should support them
http://wiki.videolan.org/XSPF

You can also create .bat file with suitable options for each channel.

tried that. It just totally ignores the option part in the playlist. They only work in the shortcut.

Some options aren't marked safe, so they might not work via playlist or via ActiveX etc.
