trouble copying avi files to usb drive

trouble copying avi files to usb drive

When i download a avi file it plays on my pc, but when i copy it to my usb drive it will not play. i get error message "fixing avi index" this might take awhile. It doesn't do it every time, sometimes i have no trouble with it at all.

Now it plays for 2:04 and stops, any other suggestions
