Option to change speed display to 100%

IMO, a more useful display for playback speed would be to display the multiplier. Instead of displaying "faster" when hitting the + key, it should display 1.5 or 150%. This will tell you what speed the playback is in an instant. When you slow it down, it should display "normal" or 100%+++

Yes, please. I always must switch from full screen to windowed display to check the current playback speed. Please put this information in OSD, too.

I am sorry, the information "Speed: 1.5x" and so on is already displayed on the screen in newer VLC versions when adjusting the speed using +/- keys .

I just upgraded. I was pleased to see this had been implemented. I am just sorry I had the idea after the fact.
