VLC shoutcast --sout-shout-url , what does it do?

VLC shoutcast --sout-shout-url , what does it do?

Postby Kanonskall » 08 Mar 2011 04:43

I'm streaming to an icecast server, and i'm wondering if anyone could explain to me what the --sout-shout-url parameter does exactly?

Can it be set to let's say a flash player i've set up myself on a website, og does it have to be the direct address to the stream (ports and all) ?

I would like the stream to be correctly submitted to the "YellowPages" of stream, and i'm not sure how to use this parameter.

The url is the output url, not the yellow pages.
