why the file selection dialog is hang

hi, all
i can now run vlc using a non-root user permission, however, when I click the open in the menu to display a file select dialog, i cann't navigate anymore,
but if i use --enable-run-as-root when configure, then i can run vlc as a root user, i can navigate at the select dialog to find a movie.

Anyone told me how to solve it?

I am a newbie of vlc, thanks a lot for any advice!

That's a bug in KDE 4.6.0. Upgrade and downgrade it.
