Setting Up A Stream With Hamachi

Postby amuench » 26 Feb 2011 07:07

Hello!
I've been trying to set up multicast video streaming with VLC and Hamachi so that my girlfriend and I can watch movies together while we're both at school.
I started using just the standard IP and port :
rtp://239.255.100.100:1234
Which she could connect to, but no video would appear. When I would try from my computer, I connected and got video

So, I tried using my Hamachi IP and broadcasting via HTTP, but no one could connect. And I tried using multicast with my Hamachi IP and it wouldn't work either. I really just don't know how to set Hamachi up with a broadcast...

Anyone know how to set all this stuff up? I've been at it for a few hours with no luck. Can anyone help me out here? Any streaming method that allows both of us to watch at the same time works. I'm on campus ethernet, so I should have no problem with bandwidth

Thanks all

I very much doubt that Hamachi supports multicast... so yeah, that shouldn't work.

Well, like I said, any method to stream via hamachi while being able to watch myself would be fine.

Care to share any methods?
