Record single Program from DVB-T

Postby snigger » 11 Feb 2011 12:40

Hi
I tune to a Transponder to view channels from DVB-T
Then I switch to my desired channel by selecting it from "playback->programs" menu
When I need to record a program I hit "Record" button on the top of play/pause button
It records to TS format without problem but it records all of programs in that transponder!! for example I'm trying to save Channel #4 and in transponder there is 12 channels. VLC records all of those 12 channels in that TS file and make a huge file (for a 1.5 hour program it makes about 6 GB file including all of channels)

How can I record a single program?

Thanks

From the command line use --program= where the value is the Service PID, aka SID, of the channel.

From the GUI: Tools -> Preferences (Show settings=All) -> Input/Codecs
Then at the bottom of the right panel, in the Advanced section, untick Prefer native stream recording. Then Save, exit and restart VLC.

Works swell but without subtitles. How do I keep them?
