How to delete a video?

Hi, I would like to know how can I delete a video while watching it. I'm randomly watching a playlist and I would like to delete from the hard drive the video I'm watching.

on linux, just delete it...
on windows, I don't think you can delete files in use...

You can't. Windows forbids deleting open files. Linux allows deleting open files, but the disk space will only be actually freed once VLC stops playback.

And well, that's quite obvious. You need to store the video being watched somewhere...

With KMPlayer I can do it, but I don't like to have so many programs, I was looking for something like a delete button in VLC to delete the video files, not just from the playlist.
