cant seem to configure host address on web interface

Postby mikeloeven » 27 Jan 2011 21:20

from what i read on the wiki the vlc web interface is configurable from preferences>all>interfaces>main interfaces>HTTP. in the host address box i entered 0.0.0.0:4532 hoping that it would make the interface listen on port 4532. however when i clicked save preferences the web interface didn't change it's port and when i opened preferences again the host address block was empty as if i never entered anythign into it. i tried this several times but cant get vlc to save this infomation. i think i might be doing somthing wrong but the wiki is a bit sketchy when it comes to the new preferences system and alot of the tutorials i have found refer to the old versions of vlc. so can someone walk me through changing the web interface port so i can free up 8080 for normal http streaming

Known issue. You can change the value either via command-line or via vlc config file (%appdata%\vlc\vlcrc).
