Cannot Record Video Effects in VLC

Postby drvajra » 24 Jan 2011 20:50

I am using VLC 1.1.6 in Vista.
I have a video clip which has a video/audio sync problem.

I tried to correct it by
Tools->Effects and Filters -> Synchronization
and by "Advance of Audio over Video" and got the sync perfect. I was quite elated.

BUT, after recording (pressed record button which turned blue indicating it was recording),and then opening the recorded file, the sync correction was not there. The VLC seems to have recorded the ORIGINAL file with the sync problem.

I then tried some other effects (Video Effects - Gradient), VLC gives a pleasing effect, but after recording, the effects are not present.

Can someone please help me how I can record the final output with video effects?

Will greatly appreciate your help.

You have to use transcode. Record just does as-is recoding, it doesn't fix/change anything.

Media -> Convert/Save...

but other tools, like AVIdemux might provide you an easier route.
