Why subtitles stop working after backwards seek?

Why subtitles stop working after backwards seek?

Postby chiappa » 17 Jan 2011 15:07

Hi,

I was just wondering as to why subtitles stop working when i seek backwards, having to load the subtitle file again for them to work. Which can be quite a nuisance while adjusting the subtitles and stuff like that. This happens on both Linux and Windows versions of VLC, (1.1.3 Luggage at the time of writing). Is this normal behavior?

thanks for your insights!

It's probably because the subtitle format parser does not support seeking backward...
