Video playback is too dark

Postby favl » 15 Jan 2011 00:19

Hello,
I use VLC with Windows XP and I noticed the video playback in VLC is significantly darker than in smplayer or WMP (on the same pc, of course).

So is there something in the settings of VLC I could tweak to get it lighter?
I already know the settings under extra->effects but this doesn't seem to be very good, sometimes almost black areas become gray, which leads to a very unaesthetic "pixeling" effect.

Thanks.
