Can someone test this Shoutcast TV link for me?

Postby dixonstalbert » 06 Jan 2011 15:24

Salut
I like watching Shoutcast TV with VLC

I can open all the Shoutcast TV links listed here:

http://sonic-lux.de/home/projekte/softw ... index.html

except "Retroedu" (url= http://173.193.48.140:8888) which opens and sound plays but there is no video and Messages says:

"avcodec warning: cannot decode one frame"

VLC reports video codec is On2's VP6.2.

I am running UBUNTU 10.04 64-bit with newest compiled FFMPEG and have tried ubuntu standard vlc and korn's PPA

j-b's pinned post above says these are both broken for some codecs and the best is to compile yourself.

Can someone test the link above for Retroedu and see if you can get video and post back before I attempt to manually compile?

merci beaucoup,
Dixon

Yes. I have tried the RETROEDU stream for several days, but I can only receive audio. Hopefully, the problem is on the streamer's end and will be resolved soon.

Good luck,

Ben

thanks for responding

I tried vlc in Windows XP and same result: No video and message log also continuously says

main warning: buffer is 43214 in advance, triggering downsampling
avcodec warning: cannot decode one frame (652 bytes)
avcodec warning: cannot decode one frame (438 bytes)

The video content opens in Winamp in WindowsXP but there is a horizontal green bar across the bottom.
Is there an adjustment in vlc to make video decoding more tolerant of errors in stream?
