Skipping ahead stops subtitles

Postby PolishLebowski » 31 Dec 2010 22:27

Older laptop, XP Pro, Vlc 1.1.5

Eg. Watching Lord.Of.The.Rings-Return.Of.The.King.EXTENDED.EDITION.DVDRip.XViD with .idx and .sub files.
CD1 starts and the subs work fine. It takes alot of processing with subs running, but if I close everything else it's fine.
But, if I skip ahead in time, the subs stop working and I have to reload the sub file, or reopen the video file.

This happens with any avi with subs. Any idea?

This only happens with idx+sub subtitles?

I'm having the exact same problem with my avi file with idx and sub (or sfv?) subtitles. I was nearing the end of a foreign film and the subtitles suddenly stopped appearing. Frustrating.

sfv is checksum file, not a subtitle file.

Do you have some sample subtitles you could share to us?

Here's the rar file for the subtitles: http://www.mediafire.com/?as5una6ad5ja79u

Is that what you meant?

Also, I failed to read the above heading about this being 'Windows only' troubleshooting. I have a Macbook. I don't know how it would make my problem different from the original post.

Windows only means x86/x64 Windows operating systems. So if you run Win32 or Win64 on your Mac, this is the right subforum.
