VLS sample telnet admin usage...

Postby dml337ira » 19 May 2005 21:07

What I'm looking for is some examples of the start or program cammand.
I'm running VLS under FreeBSD 5.3. I've got a sample .avi foile i'm trying to run. I start the VLS server, then telnet into local host. But I keep fouling up the syntax.

start <program> <channel> <input> [--loop] ect...

Any samples of these would be helpful...

PS... if i'm going about this the wrong way let me know...
Sooo Many nights of frustration....

Thanks in advance!

Got no where trying to find info on VLS, it seems VLC is thew way to go if you wanna stream video with video lan products.... To my astonishment I actually got VLC to work under Fedora Core 3. The Command line still gives me headaches but the GUI is Sweet...

I managed to get .MKV and .AVI files to stream over the local LAN.

I'm gonna try and dupe this on another server and right up some docs...

VLS was the only VLC product that installed cleanly on the FreeBSD ports system (my preferred OS) But for my specific application I guess Fedora will have to do....
