VLC dont stream TVcabo Provider

Hello ,

i and many other have a problem to get a stream or play a record stream from the Dreambox to PC.
TVcabo stream dont work - all other Providers work fine .

I made a short .ts record file - so you could maybe look into this .
I can play it on the Dreambox but no way to stream - also a livestream is not possible .
I have a Dreambox 800 HD with latest VLC and updated Software.

Could someone tell me the Developer who could help me with this ?VLC streams all TV Provider - but not TVCabo to the PC.

Considering the specifity of your problem, tied to Dreambox and a specific provider, it is likely that NOBODY knows the answer to your problem here.

If you think it's a parsing bug, file a ticket on the VLC Trac.

I have registered on trac , but i cant open a ticket .

I tried to demuxe a stream - and VLC can play it after this .Maybe its a bug in the demuxer .

I Have same problem with polish provider cyfrowy polsat from hotbird also nagravision 3 based, I investigated that problem is with channels that have a shared PMT, to make them work i have to put to vlc command line "--program <SID>". stream works also with mplayer or mpc-hc (with it occasionaly ).


I dont know if it is a bug or a feature ;(

I just want to say that this Problem was fixed by Dreamstream E2 .
Some Providers work with a shared PMT which VLC dont stream .
Dreamstream works great - i dont know why it is such a big Problem to fix it on VLC ?

this issue has been there from the beginning... for years... still don't understand how it isn't fixed vlc side. if we use mplayer it works without any problem! so people who want to watch tv cabo have to stick with other media player...

yes cmra dreamstream e2 works but dreamstream e1 is not more developed and has that issue too so most people still have the problem. btw i remember there being a setting in vlc that should fix that but it won't just work. (enabling all the stream options don't remember the name now... i just moved on to mplayer for dreambox streaming)

edit: the settings to enable in vlc should be the following... but don't always work... or at least not for everybody

Don't say that...

It is an old problem with this hispasat provider.
Almost all other players open the ts file from zon/tvcabo, so vlc is not completely inocent!

I know that the ts from zon is not perfect, because if I use the software ts doctor 1.2 on it it corrects the file and the new one is playablle in vlc, but it should be easy for you to understand the problem and put vlc to play the ts as the other players do...
If you want I can provide you a zon ts.

maybe we are more than you think with this problem and we would be very grateful if you could solve it.

Update:

I can produce a m3u playlist file with metadata file in it, for example like this:

#EXTVLCOPT--http-reconnect=true
#EXTVLCOPT:program=945
http://192.168.1.92:8001/1:0:1:3B1:2F:36:CE40000:0:0:0:


program=945 is decimal for the hex 3B1

doing that for every channels, the shared PMT problem of some providers is solved in VLC (at least in version 2.0.3) but only for playing.

If I want to stream or save only this program to the disk, the metadata has no effect.

Any ideas?
