VLC 1.1.5 is opening at login

Every time I restart or turn on my MacBook Pro VLC opens automatically.

Open at login option is not checked.

I tried to delete .plist files and it didn't work.
Tried to repair permissions and it didn't work either.

Any thoughts?

I have the same problem. Also deleted preference file, but still opens. Going to uninstall soon if can't find a fix.

I am running MBP OS 10.6.5.

Check in your System Preferences-->Accounts-->Login Items to see if there's anything else that is opening that may also be triggering a VLC launch like a file associated with VLC.

Alternatively check the following folders:

~/Library/StartupItems/
/Library/StartupItems/
/System/Library/StartupItems/

I am also getting the same error and checked the same places as other. I also checked all three spots you suggested, but nothing showed up. Any other thoughts/suggestions?

I had the same issue and was able to fix it by deleting my "/Users/goask/Library/Preferences/loginwindow.plist" and logging out and then back in. I then added back each login item. I found that for me the item triggering VLC was the Breakaway.app (version 1.9). For now I am just not adding that back to my user login items list. If you are running Breakaway see if that fixes it for you. After a few successful restarts etc I ran the Breakaway.app and sure enough VLC started up. Hope this helps.
