automatic dolby digital for dvd?

Is there any way to have dolby digital automatically enabled when the audio device supports it? I have to set the audio device manually on every dvd.

You mean SPDIF output?

Yes. I always have to use the context menu for audio to set this.

Tools -> Preferences (Show settings: All) Audio and tick Use S/PDIF when available. Save and restart VLC.
