HTTP Streaming

Postby idkska » 10 Dec 2010 19:58

What is required to have a setup like the channels.com view in the manager but serving http streams?

Basically I have a web server with lots of files I want to stream without conversion as I have lots of bandwidth. I am interested in what is required to have a slick menu with pictures and nested folders like channels.com. I've just been copy and pasting (auth req) http links from my web server into VLC. (AVI and MKV) It works great but would be a nice feature for users to be able to implement a channels.com like view to their own served content. Why is there not any solid documentation for this?

Scripting is not an issue. I just need to know where to start.

Server is Debian. Client is Win7.

Thanks
