Subtitles help

when im watching a film like Avatar or District 9 with alien language ive noticed, if i turn off the subtitles option i dont get the alien translation. But if i turn it on i get human and alien translation all the way through the film.. Is there a way of only getting alien translation?

There should be another subtitle track on the DVD or BD that only shows English text for non-English speak, and you need to select that.
VLC cannot implement an artificial intelligence to know when and when not to show subtitles.
