I'm running Windows 7 Professional on a new PC under VLC 1.1.4 and experience similar issues playing CDs, i.e.

1. In Explorer, clicking on a .cda file causes VLC to crash
2. When using Open Disk (and choosing Audio CD), VLC crashes when set on Track 0 (zero).
3. Any specified track will play but bubsequent tracks do not play automatically.

awm34: it is the cddb that crashes VLC. You can disable it via Tools -> Preferences... and change Album art download policy to Manual download only.

@VLC_help: I'm using 1.1.5, followed your instructions, & it's still having the same problems. I can get it to play the 1st track, but nothing beyond that.

Okay, never mind. Ejected the disc, shut down iTunes, and restarted VLC, and it seems to work now. Thank you everyone!
