Converting BBC iPlayer for iPod

Postby northlondon » 01 Nov 2010 18:19

Hello,

I've recently dicovered the get_iplayer http://www.infradead.org/get_iplayer/ht ... layer.html utility which allows me to grab iPlayer TV/radio in VLC-friendly .ts file format.

I've been trying to use VLC to convert this to some kind of portable, non-mp3, format to listen to when away from the PC.

From the Media-Convert/Save menu, I've tried to use the preset "Audio - AAC(MP4)" without success. The mp3 default works nicely... but it's mp3 :-(

The sound file is either unplayable or heavily distorted. I'm also confused by the default .ps extension that VLC puts on this file.

I've found most of the VLC resources far in excess of my level of expertise, can anyone point to somewhere that I can get to the bottom of this?

Thanks,
