Streaming Cache?

Postby jama7 » 26 Oct 2010 09:43

Hi everybody.

I'm using VLC to perform some tests about streaming, and I've been "playing" with the streaming cache value (default: 300 ms). It's been useful, as I've got different results, but I have an important question:

What does this cache value do?

Does it store the amount of video before streaming it? It doesn't look so in my tests, so I was wondering if you could tell me how this works and what this streaming cache does.

Thanks for your help! :)

It's the amount of data received before it gets output through the pipelines.
