Hide VLC DVD Interface With Hotkey

I see in the hotkeys there is a hide and a show interface but they don't seem to work (i and shift-i), I want a hotkey that will hide the player then bring it back up when I show it, is this possible?

i'd like this as well. a hotkey to show/hide the program would be useful.
