vlc 1.1.4 does not play moser baer super dvds

Hi, I installed the latest version of vlc in my laptop which has a windows7 professional OS running. When i insert a moser baer super dvd(the one which has three movies in it and a double layered one,it sizes at 7.3gb) the player opens but does not play the movie. If I open the menu of the dvd and goes to each file and play, it plays but with lots of grains and other disturbances. vlc plays other movies and dvds without any problems though. This super dvds can be played with windows media palyer without any hiccups though.

Can anyone suggest as to how to overcome this problem and make vlc play the video as it used to before..???
