VLC Media Player 1.1.1 (Arch Linux) unexpectedly quits

Hello,

I am running VLC Media Player 1.1.1 on ArchLinux. I have been having the following problem for the last few days.
I have a playlist with several items. Some of the items are .m3u and .pls files. When I double click (play) these .pls files in the playlist VLC unexpectedly quits. I can double click (play) .mp3 (local) items in the playlist fine.

Any ideas?
