VLC still incapable of opening the MRL...

Postby marpiw » 10 Sep 2010 15:53

Today I updated my VLC Player from the 1.1.0. version to the latest 1.1.4. one and to my disgrace still the ''Player'' cant ''play'' my CD'S and DVD'S because when I command the player to open the disc a legend appears that ''VLC IS INCAPABLE OF OPENING THE MRL''.
When I put the disk in my computer(CD or DVD) THE PLAYER TAKES NO NOTICE OF THE FACT.
When I command that the player should open the disc in order to play it the legend appears.
In three years of use up to nowadays I COULDNT PLAY A SINGLE CD OR DVD USING VLC,and still I dont know where the problem is.I sent several postings to this forum and many dozens of mails to the developers and as I say I couldnt find out where the problem is.Could anyone help me in finding out?.
I guess that there are crowds of people out there who can play their CD'S OR DVD'S using VLC.What program did they download?.The same as mine or a special one?.Did I miss some fixing ''after downloading''?
I find that what I have today is a program that can read only files stored in my computer. It is incapable of reading files from other sources as DVD'S AND CD'S.This DISGRACEFUL FACT IS A MAJOR BUG in VLC.
Thank you in advance for reading and replying to this posting.
