How to always start VLC w/extended GUI enabled?

Postby sohosources » 28 Aug 2010 10:01

Hi, gang:

In previous versions of VLC I used to be able to save a setting that allowed VLC to start with the extended GUI enabled and the video adjustment sliders enabled and ready to go.

Now, when VLC starts, I have to click on a button and a checkbox or two to enable the video gamma and contrast controls, which I use frequently. It's not THAT BIG of a deal, but when I start VLC 10-30 times a day...the clicking adds up :)

I can't find the setting I need... Does it still exist?

Thanks in advance,

You mean View -> Advanced controls? It should stay on the chose option if VLC closed down properly.

if you are constantly mucking around with gamma & contrast on VLC then the problem lies with your PC settings graphics card, not vlc.
i suggest you read this thread:- viewtopic.php?f=14&t=50836

which will fix all your issues. you wont need to keep adjusting gamma & contrast then.
