Saving media stream locations?

Using 1.1.2. Is there a way to save the media streams I like?

My friend used to work for a radio station when he was in college. Now he's graduated and in his spare time does an online radio station. I don't like to listen to it through the browser. I use VLC. Is there a way to save the stream?

Each time I have to visit the website, copy that link, and paste into VLC.

Also, the first time I ran 1.1.2 it showed me the artist and title of who's playing on the task bar. It also had a popup in the tray next to the time.

It's not doing that any more.. is that a feature built into skins? Maybe since I installed a skin it doesn't work?
