individual wall filter alignment

Postby neophyte46 » 19 Apr 2005 01:49

I'm trying to watch movies across two lcd's.

I've had a look at the 'wall' filter.

running something like
vlc --filter wall --wall-cols 2 --wall-cols 1 --wall-active 0,1 movie.avi

Both of the segments are then centered on each.

I've tried addding an 'align 1' to align left. But it aligns both parts. I want to align the movie on the left lcd to right alignment, and the movie on the right lcd to left alignment. So that they are both join in the centre. Does this make sense?

I've been struggling with this for a while. Can anbody help me out?
Cheers,

That's interesting. Would these changes have been incorporated into the latest version? I downloaded the latest version and have been having the same problems with that.

What exactly was fixed? How can it work out how to position them?

Thanks.

It is incorporated in the latest nightly build, that can be found at http://www.videolan.org/~videolan.

It sets the align flag to left on the right part and right on the left part, just like you wanted, but couldn't do because the command line would affect both.

oups it works
i had just take the command line that neophyte46 put on top:

vlc --filter wall --wall-cols 2 --wall-cols 1 --wall-active 0,1 movie.avi

for sure it's

vlc --filter wall --wall-cols 2 --wall-rows 1 --wall-active 0,1 movie.avi

On 200506170454 win32 build, wall with rows=1 and columns>2 or rows>2 and columns=1 does not create correct amount of windows. Also having settings above can cause garbage or wrapping in the windows.
