Where's that option? I have the option to enable SPDIF when available but I didn't find one to force it?Please have a look at the preferences. There is an option to force SPDIF output. You might need to enable the Advanced-flag to see this option.
Hello,That's actually the one I meant. It triggers VLC to use SPDIF always, if it is available, which is almost like forcing it. VLC will only look for other modules, if SPDIF isn't available, so it is the default output.
I just tried the actual overnight version "vlc-0.8.2-svn-20050602" with five different DTS-WAV's but it has still the same problems (no S/PDIF output option available).Could someone try a recent nightly build? Please give feedback if it is still broken. Thanks.
Same problem with playing a network-video-stream with AC3-audio. I'm missing the "A/52 over S/PDIF" option in this case. I changed the preferences to force SPDIF output but it doesn't matter, option doesn't appear.I got exactly the same problem: If I play AC3 encoded Files, they WILL be played over SPDIF, but if I Play DTS encoded WAV's the "A/52 over S/PDIF" option DISAPPEARS and I can only play over 5.1 or quadra (which actually works).
The SPDIF option is enabled and ACTUALLY it is working, but NOT with DTS WAV's !?
