When ever the video source is selected computer powers off and restarts. Gives blue screen of death on startup until the card is moved to another PCI slot. Only happens with VLC all the other apps webcamXP, Lifeview TV software all capture the source with no issues at all.

VLC 0.8.1 just doesn't work with capture cards; it always does something strange. You will have to use an earlier or later [i.e., developmental 0.8.2] version. The latter is what I do.
