How to FULLY DELETE VLC on a Mac

Postby sadams5011 » 05 Aug 2010 07:41

Hello,

I am using a Mac (leopard) and am looking to fully delete VLC from my computer. I know that I can just drag and drop the application and the download file and that will delete the file. However, I need to fully delete every single trace of the program from my computer. Any thoughts?

Sam

Note that if you ever installed VLC's browser plugin (you would if you had done so, it's not installed by default), you need to remove it manually from /Library/Internet Plug-Ins. Additionally, VLC may create a hidden folder in every user account's home folder called ".dvdcss", if that user ever tried to play a DVD with VLC.

AppCleaner is freeware and does a pretty good job :)
