closed captions command option?

Postby jhb50 » 03 Aug 2010 15:37

I have many .ts files with embedded closed captions. When playing them I can display the captions with the video/subtitles tab and chose the caption stream, however I wish to transcode with the caption s displayed using the VLC command line and can find no option to activate the captions like the subtitle detect option does for subs.
Unfortunately subs do not work with .ts files(perhaps because there are embedded captions in the files), or I would use them, but captions would give me a workaround.

Can anyone tell be the option to use? Thank you.

soverlay is the trancoding option if you want to burn the subtitles to video. But I ain't sure if it works ATM.
