Where can I get an earlier version of VLC?

I'm a big movie fan, and I copy any movies I like into my computer so I can watch them whenever I like. I did this quite often with previous versions of VLC with great pleasure.

Recently - when my VLC updated - my movies have all f*cked up. The audio will continue playing wonderfully, but the video will freeze on one frame. This can happen for anywhere between 1 to 40 seconds. This happens, on average, once every three minutes. As you can imagine, it removes any pleasure from watching videos.

I've tried changing options, troubleshooting, changing the modules, running through various options, all to no avail. Nothing works. My movies are essentially useless now, because only VLC could play them, and now VLC doesn't work.

Is there a link on your site to a previous version of VLC media player that I can download and replace this newest one with?

I appreciate your link, but not your sarcasm.

There is absolutely no point to having a movie player that can't play movies. Since my last post I've looked around, and my problem is not unique. The only option that has been suggested and actually works is downloading a previous version of VLC.

So yes, I will take all the "old bugs and security vulnerabilities for free" - as long as I have a movie player that has the capability to play movies.

Appreciate the sarcasm however you want. The point is, you were warned.

Reverting to a previous version is definitely not the most constructive reflex to resovle your specific problem. But, you will not be able to leverage the new features, like say WebM decoding. As you revert back instead of figuring out the problem, the bug will probably not be fixed anytime soon. So you will be stuck with that old insecure version for who knows how long.

Nobody else needs to care what version of VLC you are happy with. Had I been bothered, I would not have answered your question in the first place.

I think the sarcasm is unnecessary as well. The person simply wanted an old version and what's wrong with that? The latest "update" crashes all the time, no matter what I'm trying to play either songs or movies. It has problems with the Visualizations as well. When I try to choose "Goom" it crashes every time. I was simply testing them out and they crashed. I normally don't even use them since they slow down system and are lame anyway.
When I try to build any kind of playlist, it crashes. I've never had this program crash this much. Previous versions seemed much more stable.
Do you guys use a bug-reporting program like bugzilla? Might be useful in fixing bugs and problems. It’s just a suggestion. Do what you will with it, but do us all a favor and save your sarcasm for someone who cares.

I always keep the installer for the most recent version.
Luckily, as I've just had to install v1.1.0 again.
v1.1.1 which upgrade I accepted today, fails to do at all, the task for which I use it most - playing transport stream files recorded from DVB-T
If I'd not kept the installer for v1.1.0, I'd be stuffed right now.

Transport Stream don't reallly work in 1.1.0 though. You'll need 1.0.6 or 1.1.2 for that.
