always rebuilding font cache before playing videos

Postby markystar » 06 Jul 2010 04:16

i just did a clean install of windows vista on a new hard drive and installed VLC player 1.1.0.

every time i run a video i get the message "rebuilding font cache" and it takes anywhere from 1 - 5 minutes of "rebuilding" before playing a video. none of these video have subtitle files or anything like that, so i'm not sure what exactly is going on here.

never had this problem with VLC player before.

Then you have broken font file in your fonts folder. VLC 1.1.1 will hopefully provide workaround for this.

hello

i also have same issue, VLC always rebuilding font
sometimes once every restart ... other times font keep rebuilding when loading video
never had this issue on previous build

just wondering ? how to check broken fonts folder?
i thought windows automatically install font and un-compatible fonts automatically ignored/skiped
