Maybe a codec question?I don't know if it is a bug in the stream being mono or a work-around that works, since I am unable to reproduce.
No, I checked my files in Gspot. So it appears to be a conflict with VLC trying to play a mono file in stereo mode?
Can you confirm this?UPDATE: you're right Bsteinagel.
The problem is only when playing mono files.
yes, I checked another 25-30 files.Can you confirm this?UPDATE: you're right Bsteinagel.

In fact, yes, it did. This stream is great to test. I believe we have fixed it in 1.1.2:A good test site is the TWiT network live audio stream at http://twit.am/listen. If left in Stereo mode, VLC will start dropping out in 15-20 seconds, then repeat approx every 10 seconds. Switching VLC to Mono results in uninterrupted playback. Also, VLC 1.0.5 can playback without changing modes.
Hope that helps track down the issue....

Try it yourself:

This is a work-around, not a fixI think I found the answer. It has its own issues, possibly. Tools-Preferences [all] - Input/Codecs - Access Modules - File. Increase the buffering ms to at least 800. I use 1000 and no more drop outs.
Woot! My initial testing of the nightly build sounds good! Thank you --SO-- much for looking into that.In fact, yes, it did. This stream is great to test. I believe we have fixed it in 1.1.2:

PS - If I'm running a nightly build (from above), will I be prompted to update to official 1.1.2 or do I need to keep my eye out for it manually?
