Differnce between h264 and avc1

Postby babitha » 21 Jul 2010 09:00

Hi friendz,
I'm using vlc 0.9.6 in my fedora9 machine. When I record h264 video from IP camera, video gets recorded correctly. While I play it back uisng GOM player in windows, I find that codec is avc1.Why it is not showing h264?When i play it using vlc player,it shows h264.What may be the reason?
I tested the same in windows also. When i record h264 stream using vlc 1.0.5 in windows,it shows avc1 codec in GOM player.
I'm using the url rtsp://IP/axis-media/media.amp?videocodec=h264
Waiting for your response....
