I need to know how to use VLC to stream videos...

I have used VLC to watch movies that are downloaded onto my computer but now I want to use it to watch a streaming video from an online site. TVTubeX has videos to stream but I cannot figure out how to use VLC to watch them and the site has no directions on how to do this. I would really appreciate if someone could explain how it works. I am using Windows XP it that matters.
