vlc 1.1 doesn't quit when i close the window

Postby prakreet » 30 Jun 2010 18:09

i installed vlc 1.1 on windows xp sp2. the problem is that vlc doesn't quit properly even when i close the window. after i close the window like this i am unable play more videos with vlc.. if i have to play another video, i have to kill process vlc from the taskmanager, then play the video..

steps to reproduce..
play a video with vlc.. close the window.. play another.. if we repeat these steps fast vlc doesn't quit properly..

the window disappears just when i hit the close button.. but the process doesn't quit n it is unable to play any more videos..

I have the same problem.

Version 1.1 is not very xp friendly I think.

You may be able to close it properly by right clicking on the task bar button thing where it shows an open window then close.
There is also the vlc keyboard shortcut ctrl+q .

Use Ctrl+q
that's a workaround - try admitting, for once, that it's a bug and needs fixing

( i've never met such a defensive, and rude, developer before,

hopefully he does not have admin privileges to delete this post )

this is a really annoying bug.. i think it needs to be tagged with critical priority..

newbie users won't know what is happening.. they will be the ones badly affected by this..
