Decrease Width?

Decrease Width?
Hey so I just got the new version, and this width is a lot bigger than the old one. Any way to decrease the width, it wont let me slide it to the left.

Yes I will be able to. You see, if you click view, up at the top, and then click customize interface. You can actually take away some of the useless buttons.
So anyway, how can I decrease the width or will I just have to get the older version?
