Autoplay Not Working

Postby silvertortoise » 22 Jun 2010 16:17

so i've got windows 7. vlc is up to date. when i insert a dvd it loads up the autoplay menu then i select vlc and wait...but nothing happens. if i open vlc manually i can load up the dvd, but it's quite annoying that the autoplay thing doesnt work. i only installed win 7 recently. before it worked fine on vista. any suggestions? thanks in advance.

Seems to be a common problem for any version above 1.0.3

Oh look, older versions. I'm gonna test out version 1.1 and 1.0.6 to see if autoplay will function.

I'll let you know what the results are.

1.1 works for me.

version 1.0.5 didn't seem to like my os but 1.0.3 was alright.
As a last ditch effort you could get an older version.

However I am confident that another member of this forum will help you to debug.

1.1 should have fixed it.

nah, nothing at all. i put the disk in, autoplay comes up, i click it, wait, but nothing. no messages. nothing. never seen anything like it. might try uninstalling and reinstalling, but don't expect it to work. i think it's something to do with win 7 compatability. it worked fine on vista.

nah reinstalling didn't fix it. oh well, its not the end of the world. hopefully the next version of the otherwise brilliant vlc media player will have fixed it.
