Milk Drop Support

Postby likwidflame » 22 Jun 2010 20:46

Hey there!

Milk drop makes me feel happy, it's the Visualization suite you get with winamp nowadays. Here's what i'm looking for.

I would really like to have milkdrop support in VLC, as I can trust the audio output to be steady, and play all of my assorted files. I don't care if it doesn't have file name/id3 support, just visualize. However! I would like to see the following:

Please, please build an all in one system with full screen browsing capabilities. I would like to pick a movie, followed up by a playlist with Milkdrop on visualizations, or pictures much like MCE does. I would like to press the green button on my remote, have it launch VLC Mediaplayer and be able to pause, rewind, etc...

Is there currently a way to get milkdrop to work with VLC/do what I asked above without using EventGhost?

There is already MilkDrop *.milk files support in VLC (via the ProjectM libraries).

AFAIK it doesn't work on Windows yet (module not included in Win32 build of VLC 1.1.0). The module is in VLC 1.2.0-git though, however it doesn't work in the newest nightly build I have tested (vlc-1.2.0-git-20100503-0003 so not that new). I would test a newer version however the VLC nightly builds site appears to be down ATM.

Cheers, Arite.

The module is not working at the moment due to an unknow bug. We are trying to fix this...
