I've just noticed that VLC 1.1.0 now has support for media-keys like play & pause. Is there anyway to disable this feature? I use a remote control software that maps remote control keys and keyboard media keys to normal keyboard keys on a per application basis. This gives me full control of the remote for every application I have, most importantly VLC of course ;) Now that VLC supports media keys, its throwing everything out of whack. VLC only supports a subset of media-keys and they don't work exactly to my liking.

Don't get me wrong, its a neat addition and long overdue. I just don't need it. VLC has a million and one settings for everything else, why not this? Thanks :)

Hey!, I guess I missed RC2 and RC3...

I'm downloading it!.
Is there anyway to disable this feature?
Did you check the advanced settings?, maybe it's there.

I doubt it is possible yet.

Streaming files to veetle not working in the RC or RC4. The stream shows up but dies or is all garbled. I did create a new cmd line from the RC just to make sure, but no dice.

When you try to stream a file from the interface using HTTP....it shows a box saying PATH unlike the regular VLC. I tried inputting 127.0.0.1 in the box but it does not stream. Pasting the cmd line I use on 1.0.5 gets VLC to stream but veetle cuts off 5 seconds into streaming. I have tried everything I can think of. Streaming from my capture device works just fine. I have tried multiple file formats including avi. mkv and mp4. Nothing streams but my capture device. This applies to RC and RC4.

Also with the new RC's installed, I cannot even stream a file on the veetle page using their broadcast page. I am stuck using 1.0.5 until I can figure this out. That is sad because my TV stream looks better on the RC. :(

I cannot toggle to fullscreen mode in vlc browser plugins. It is neither working in Firefox 3.6.3 (using the Mozilla plugin) nor in IE 8 using ActiveX both under Windows 7. Non of the following commands toggle to fullscreen: "vlc.video.fullscreen=true;", "vlc.video.toggleFullscreen();", as well as double clicking on the video screen.

It was working fine with VLC 1.0.5 and some nightly builds of VLC 1.1.0 from December and January (this was the last one I tested; I don't know when it stopped working exactly).

Any thoughts? Did I miss something?

Playlist doesn't work with VLC 1.1.0-RC4 (WinXP)

I have a problem with many playlists in m3u format.
With VLC 1.0.5 it works perfect, but now it doesn't work anymore.

If I open a playlist in m3u format, the output will be the following error:
File reading failed:
VLC could not open the file "\\R:\directory\filename.mp3".
Your input can't be opened:
VLC is unable to open the MRL 'file://R:\directory\filename.mp3'. Check the log for details.

The debug log:
libdvdnav: Using dvdnav version 4.1.4
libdvdread: Using libdvdcss version 1.2.10 for DVD access
libdvdread: Could not open \\R:\directory\filename.mp3 with libdvdcss.
libdvdread: Can't open \\R:\directory\filename.mp3 for reading
libdvdnav: vm: failed to open/read the DVD
[01939f5c] filesystem access error: cannot open file \\R:\directory\filename.mp3 (No such file or directory)
[018f4ed4] main input error: open of `file://R:\directory\filename.mp3' failed: (null)

I really don't know why. If I create a playlist with VLC 1.1.0 RC4 and save the playlist to disk, it works.

In windowed mode, When highering or lowering the volume for the system using the volume keys on a keyboard, the volume in the media player gets affected as well. I am using Windows 7.

In fullscreen too,annoying :? :P

----------

The window size doesn't return to its first state if you maximize---->go fullscreen---->return from fullscreen and try to minimize.

I've just got to ask, I really love VLC player, interface wise it's the best player there is if you ask me but | I've recently started using K-lite codec pack with Media player classic and well i notice an enormous loss of lag if you compare it with VLC, i can play 1080p with no problems while it keeps bugging and freezing on VLC.
So my question basicly is why don't you guys use the latest codecs (haali splitter, FFMpeg etc.) as an extra addition to the normal program codecs.
Really i want to use VLC rather then MPC but the codecs used make it so much easier sometimes...
Not trying to rain on the parade, VLC is a great program but well you know.

Anyways, hope this gets improved in the future,

Greetz,

Saint.
