Misc. Playlist issues

Postby -g- » 04 May 2010 23:27

OK, here are some issues I've noted on 1.1.0-pre3. These probably go back to 1.0.x, too.

In the Playlist window, double clicking on the album art icon sometimes doesn't fill the media info for the current media, resulting in an empty information window. Right clicking on an item in the Playlist and selecting Information... seems to always work fine.

Selecting the album art download option in the Playlist seems to only affect the current playing media. For example, the album art for other songs in the same album won't be updated until you manually do the "Download album art" thing for those songs too.

Except the weird blank bug, everything is expected.

Oh, OK.

Another minor Playlist issue: If you close the Playlist window by clicking with the mouse on the Close button in the title bar, when you want to open the Playlist again it requires for you to do View > Playlist (or pressing Ctrl+L) twice.

Can you fill a bug on that, please?

In order to file a bug report, I did reset my VLC settings as suggested in the Report a Bug instructions just to find that the Playlist window and the main window are merged like this:

Image

If I select View > Playlist in the menu while a video is playing, the video output is replaced by the Playlist; the audio keeps playing.

I don't think this is the intended behavior for the Playlist in 1.1.0, so these are probably two different bugs?, one involving having settings from older VLC versions and one for a fresh install?.

What's wrong on this playlist?
The fact that it is on the main window?...
I mean, in VLC 1.0.5 there was a main window and a Playlist window. There was also a main window and a Playlist window in 1.1.0-pre3 when it was using the 1.0.5 settings. Now, with the settings reset, both the player and the Playlist window are merged in a single window. Also:
If I select View > Playlist in the menu while a video is playing, the video output is replaced by the Playlist; the audio keeps playing.
It doesn't seem quite right to me... or is it how the Playlist is meant to work in 1.1.0?.

[EDIT:] OK, never mind, I didn't notice that the default when I reset the VLC settings had the Docked Playlist option activated.

Whit the Docked Playlist option off, the Ctrl+L twice issue is present with the clean settings, so I'll file a bug about it.

Yeah, it was my bad. I didn't notice that the Docked Playlist option was active. Everything is fine in that last screenshot I posted 'cause it's just in the Docked Playlist mode.

Anyway, with the Playlist not docked, the issue where you have to press Ctrl+L twice to show the Playlist if you had previously closed it manually is still present, so I already filled a bug about it.

Now, on a different issue, what about this?:

Image

The marked word should be Música. Also, in the Media Information window, the Location field is filled with something like this:

file:///F:/M%C3%BAsica/Katy%20Perry%20-%20I%20Kissed%20A%20Girl.mp3

Are these some Localization issues on VLC?.
