version 1.0.5 problems

Postby DarkWarrior » 02 May 2010 17:25

hey all,

i have encountered one mother of a problem. i was using 103 without any problems and decided not to update to 104. well i was given the option download 105 so i did. i go to install it and it gives errors for EVERY file it tries to install. i figured i shouldve updated to 104 before installing 105 so i download a fresh installer only to encounter the SAME PROBLEMS. retry does nothing, ignore signals the next error, and abort doesnt completely stop the installer only the file that is being installed. it seems to me that 105 should have been given a little more bug testing or this is an issue that no one has reported yet. what do you guys think?

What file? If it is libvlc.dll or similar, make sure you have closed all running vlc.exe instances and browsers before you run install/uninstall.

are you running on an admin account, try running the setup by right clicking and run as admin, it seems that you have lost permissions for your program files directory. you may want to also do a virus scan its possible this was caused by malware.

apparently running as admin worked. just for the record though it gave the error for every file it tried to open.
