Command Line Options

Postby m1live » 29 Apr 2010 17:40

I'm trying to find out if its possible to use VLC via command line or some sort of script to

1) Open the program
2) set Volume to 0
3) Connect to a shoutcast mp3 stream
4) fade volume up

then another script to

1) fade volume out
2) stop stream
3) close the program

Any ideas if this is possible?

Thanks

Richard

4) fade volume up
That is one thing you cannot to easily. You would have to use some control interface and change level via RC, HTTP or similar interface.
1) fade volume out
2) stop stream
3) close the program
Same for these.

I would need this as well - any ideas how to make automatic and customised fade-in/fade-out without editing the audio file? If not with VLC, with some other program?
There is no need for overlapping of two audio files so basically I only need automatic and customised volume up / volume down (if this gives a better picture of what I am looking for).
