Okay i have a tv tuner card on a vista pc, i use windows media center to record from the tuner card. The video(xxx.dvr-ms) will play back in media center and VLC but no other video player that i have tested. So i tried use vlc to convert the the video but the audio is out of sync by .4 sec and the video & audio has pauses. VLC will play the video fine but not encode them for some reason. When i try doing in the terminal i get errors like this:
