vlc mozilla plugin does not play wmv

After installing vlc-player 1.0 on openSuse 11.1 Kde 4.2 the Vlc Mozilla Plugin doesn't play wmv/asx files.

When I want to play a wmv/asx file with the vlc-mozilla plugin, the plugin shows only waiting for video.
When I try to play the same video in the (external) vlc media player it works without any problems.
Other videos (for example mp4) are played in the mozilla plugin.
Before I installed the new vlc player 1.0 the plugin had no problems to play wmv.

Does anyone know, what the problem could be?

As far as I can tell through testing, the current plugin versions for VLC will not support input of ASX or any other types of playlist wrappers. The plugin does work with individual files though but only properly for IE, Safari, and Firefox. In Chrome and Opera the Mozilla plugin conflicts with and takes over embedded WMP players.

Opening a .asx playlist directly in VLC through "Open Network Stream" does work as does clicking on an asx file as long as file associations for asx are set to open with VLC. However this is not the same as embedding VLC in a webpage.

I do see many posts that reference playlists but I do not know how to implement with the following embed code:

If anyone can tell me how to make .asx files work with the embed plugins I would appreciate it very much.

Same problem here. The plugin must be broken!

Here is a good example: If someone could play this with VLC plugin (Finnish news site) Katsomo.fi http://www.katsomo.fi/?treeId=1
and tell me how to do it. I have Ubuntu 64bit FF 3.6.3 and VLC 1.0.5 installed and vlc-plugin works but these wmv/asx media files just don't work.
I hava all the codecs needed for play wmv media!

asx not working is expected. WMV, isn't.
